Dan's "HemiStang"...
(this shot was taken at a small gathering on June 15th of 2002, the car to the right is my wife's)
There are possibly only a few of you Mustang fans that may recognize the front-end of this car, it is called a "Fiber-fab" A.K.A. the "ET Mustang", A.K.A. the "Daytona" style front-end.
Supposedly only 50 of them were ever made, and only 13 are known to still be in existence today... This one brings the number to a total of "14".
However, I have owned it for almost 25 years (since I was 15 years old!), so in reality I consider myself & this car to be one of the first ;-)
"Hemi" (as in Hemi powered), "Stang" (as in Mustang)
Hence - "HemiStang"
1966 Ford Mustang Fastback.
1956 354 cubic inch Chrysler Fire-Power Hemi motor.
6" dropped axle up front (obviously with parallel leaf springs).
Tube style front frame assembly (everything from the firewall forward was cut out...).
2 speed automatic transmission (push button style... Pretty cool huh...).
Front & rear seats have been re-upholstered to a "stock" look.
Door panels & headliner have a "diamond tuck" look to them.

P.S. If you have any information relating to FiberFab (or one for sale), please let me know !
Note: The first time I had EVER seen another one of these "front-ends" (aside from the one I personally owned) was at a car show in Sacramento California in the summer of 1990. It was then that I met Jeff Speegle and saw his 66 Mustang ET and learned much of the history behind this front-end. Jeff subsequently gave me copies of some literature that he had, including a listing (current as of 1990) of vehicles that he had managed to track down with this style front-end, and it was his goal to create a "registry" of these vehicles.
I will be posting the information here shortly (as soon as I can scan it...), including Pic's of Jeff's car ! Check back soon.
For further information about the Fiber-Fab / Daytona style "front-end" for the 65 & 66 Mustang, please visit Jeff Speegle's website @ http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/6473/page4.html
Sub-Note: In October of 2001 (for the 2nd time in my life), I ran across another Fiber-Fab Mustang. Unknown to me at the time, was that this was Fiber-Fab vehicle #13, please click here to see some very beautiful Pic's of this car.
